Eric Sibrizzi Named Director of Baseball Operations for The Players League

Siler City, NC — September 14, 2026— The Players League (TPL) today announced the appointment of Eric Sibrizzi as Director of Baseball Operations. Sibrizzi steps into the national role after four summers as Commissioner of the ONSL, where he oversaw league operations and built partnerships among owners, team administrators, and league leadership.

In his new position, Sibrizzi will work directly with commissioners across TPL's member leagues, serving as an adviser and connector as the organization continues to grow its footprint nationwide.

"With the commissioner role, I was responsible for one league and one region, where it was my duty to create a culture in which there is a synergistic partnership between owners, team administrators, and league leadership," Sibrizzi said. "In the TPL operations role, the duty will be similar, but the footprint will be at a national level. I'll be working directly with the league commissioners in the TPL and helping them create a collaborative community within their leagues."

A Lifetime in the Game

Sibrizzi brings nearly two decades of baseball experience to the role. He played at Averett University from 2007 to 2010, earning his undergraduate degree there before completing his master's degree while coaching at his alma mater.

Over 15 years as a collegiate coach, Sibrizzi held roles including recruiting coordinator, head assistant coach, and head coach, with stops at Averett University, Wake Tech Community College, William Peace University, and Methodist University.

His summer collegiate experience began in 2022 as head coach of the Oak City Gliders, now known as the Raleigh Red Oaks. He was named ONSL Commissioner in 2023 and served in that role through the 2026 season.

Looking Ahead to 2027

Sibrizzi's early priorities center on relationships and communication across the TPL's leagues.

"My goals are to develop relationships with the commissioners within each league and cultivate a culture where ideas are welcomed, respected, and considered," he said.

He also pointed to the chance to see the organization's reach firsthand.

"I'm looking forward to seeing the growth in each league, getting a chance to travel and visit ballparks in the TPL around the country, and getting to know our commissioners and their team administrators on a personal and professional level."

A Message to the ONSL

Sibrizzi closed with a note of thanks to the league he led for the past four summers.

"I just want to take a moment to thank everyone in the ONSL for allowing me to serve as commissioner for the last four summers. It's been one of the greatest experiences of my life, and I truly appreciate the support, the memories, and the mutual respect along the way. Although I'm stepping out of the role as commissioner, I'm grateful to still be a part of this league and look forward to seeing it continue to grow."
