The Greater Northeast Collegiate Baseball League acquired by The Players League

NORTH CAROLINA - The Players League, based out of North Carolina,  is excited to announce the acquisition of the Greater Northeast Collegiate Baseball League located in Maine. The GNCBL had its inaugural season in 2017 and has continued to grow each year since its inaugural season. Players located in New England and beyond have all traveled to play summer collegiate ball amongst the many teams located across the state. 

GNCBL founder, Max Salevsky, had this to say about the newest merger, “I am truly excited to be entering into an agreement with The Players League and I look forward to watching the GNCBL flourish under its wing. In speaking with Alec, it became apparent to me that his interests and vision for summer collegiate baseball were aligned with how I saw the GNCBL moving forward. The window of opportunity for these student athletes closes quickly and it has always been my desire to see the league grow to give these college ball players the best chance to get quality reps (to better their skill sets) and give them the opportunity to make an impact when they return to their college program. I believe that our merger accomplishes that goal."

The TPL is already working on a plan to develop the GNCBL even further. This includes establishing long term leases for good ballparks in the region, finding individual operators, getting community input on brand identities, working closely with the college coaches in the region, and using our TPL partners to help with the player experience. 

Alec Allred, CEO of The Players League, expressed his gratitude towards Max and his family for entrusting the GNCBL with the TPL. “The Players League couldn't be more excited about the acquisition of the Greater Northeast Collegiate Baseball League. Mr. Salevsky has built an incredible league that is well known in the region for being very player friendly and that is important for us. The Players League is a baseball league that aims to help establish unity among other leagues to help drive innovation, keep players healthy, develop athletes, and help baseball teams scale as large sports entertainment businesses.
